The Intensive Literacy Program supports children who are experiencing difficulty with their literacy development. The therapist will assess the child prior to the program and create a personalised program based on the child’s strengths and challenges. Goals will be child-specific and created in accordance with the assessment results as well as parent and teacher feedback.
The intensive nature of the program affords children with the opportunity to see rapid improvements while adopting an explicit, evidence-based, synthetic phonics approach to teaching reading and spelling. The therapist will tailor a plan to continue supporting the child and the family following the completion of the program, with continued therapy also available if desired.
There is an option to participate either in a 5 or 10 hour course either over one or two weeks of the school holiday period.
This program is available during each school holiday period.
