Funding & Rebates

Sprinkles is registered under a range of schemes listed and described below.

We will guide you in regard to relevant rebates and funding programs for which your child may be eligible.

National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS)

  • The NDIS adopts a lifetime approach, investing in people with disability early to improve their outcomes later in life. The NDIS provides funding support for people with disability, their families and carers.
  • NDIS funding may be claimed for our services for self-managed and plan-managed participants.
  • Please visit the NDIS website for more information.

Medicare Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM Plan)

  • The Chronic Disease Management Plan (CDM Plan) is a Medicare rebated funding program for people who have chronic medical conditions (classified as a condition that has been or is likely to be present for 6 months or longer).
  • Your child may be eligible for a Medicare rebate if accessing Speech Pathology services. You will need to obtain a CDM Plan from your GP in order to claim the rebate. Please note that we charge a gap fee, so you will have some out of pocket expenses.
  • The CDM Plan consists of a maximum rebate of $54.60 per session for five sessions with an eligible allied health provider per calendar year.
  • You cannot pay the gap with your private health insurance.
  • CDM plans need to be shared across allied health providers (i.e. five sessions equals five in total across Occupational Therapy and Speech Pathology if your child is accessing more than one service at a time).

Medicare Autism Rebates

  • Medicare rebates exist for the early diagnosis and treatment of children with autism or any pervasive developmental disorders.
  • This Medicare rebated scheme provides four sessions for assessment and twenty sessions for therapy with Speech Pathologists, Occupational Therapists or Psychologists.
  • This funding does not renew each year and can be used for children up to the age of 13 years.

Private Health Insurance

  • You may be able to make claims through your private health extras. Depending on your private health fund, you may be eligible for a rebate for your Speech Pathology sessions.
  • Your eligibility for a private health rebate will be dependent on your particular fund and coverage. Private health coverage also has annual limits that you will need to check with your relevant fund.
  • If you would like to check exactly how much you are able to claim back from your fund per therapy session, please contact your fund directly and quote one of the following codes:
  • 320: Initial assessment
  • 340: 45 minute therapy session
  • 350: 60 minute therapy session
